President-elect Trump has appointed Elon Musk to lead his new “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE). Musk promises to slash $2 trillion from the federal budget, nearly one third of the total budget. Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer will present basic background and explain where cuts are likely to be made and who will likely be most impacted.  How will you be affected? Massive budget cuts are supposed to lead to lower deficits…but the Trump Administration promises to increase military spending and to renew tax breaks that look to favor wealthy Americans and corporations.
